The temperature of fresh water containing ice can't rise above 0 C,
until all the ice has melted.
There is still some sea ice in the artic and ice shelves extending
over sea in the antarctic.
That is probably keeping sea water in polar regions at about 0 C,
which would stablize the temperature of the rest of the ocean--but
only until all the ice has gone.
