quoting from a coroner's finding Posted on: Tue, 13 May 2008 08:58:26 +1000

In a finding, downloadable from the web, an Australian coroner is
critical of a scientist's expert testimony.

The same scientist has written a textbook.

In reviewing that textbook for a journal, is it legitimate to quote
from a coroner's finding regarding the scientist?

Does one risk defamation proceedings if the quote is used in a
relevant context and is not malicious?
