If they get you a work permit then the residence requirement to get Right to
Remain goes to five years.
So you should qualify for RtR almost right away, if they'll let you...
Then you'll have to do the 'Life in the UK' exam. The major problem with
that is not haemorrhaging from boredom when reading the book...

My advice is 'always tell them the truth'.
It's way too easy to check your National Insurance payments and tax records.
