Actually, one did pass a few years ago. It wasn't as thorough as this
one, but did allow for a grant of citizenship to any person (even if
living outside Canada) who lost his/her Canadian citizenship as a
minor child, due to the action (usually, taking U.S. citizenship) of
the responsible parent. This was not retroactive, however, so the
grantee's children did not gain citizenship. This will make it
retroactive to the person's birth. |
