If the person has an SSN or later is assigned an SSN the employer should
submit a W-2c and W-3. The employer has 3 years to send in the
correction.

The employee should request a Social Security Statement, i.e. if the
correction is sent in 2005, request it the begining of 2007. If the
wages are missing contact SSA with proof of the earnings, i.e, W-2, pay
stubs, so the earnings can be posted to the earnings record.
