My wife is scheduled for an interview in Africa soon. She was here as
EWI but took the voluntary departure option to do consulate processing.
I have read that it is usually denied and that will trigger the 601
waiver. Is this waiver at the discretion of the consulate officer? Can
this waiver be waived? Would a congressman or a senator have any
influence to expedite the waiver when and if filed?
Thanks a lot for all the info on this site...More of Immigration
dictionary than USCIS site.
