I was in a similar situation, although fortunately, we already had been
to our interview.
However, my fingerprints were taken at the same appointment, so we had
to wait for that.
We slipped into months of silence and no approval.
Then, 90 days before expiration, I had to start thinking about filing
for renewal of my EAD.
Because of the interview I had the name of the adjudicator,
so we mailed a couple of return receipt letters to the Charleston
District Office,
explaining to them that I really needed to file for another EAD,
something I didn't have to do when approved, and how that would save us
$$.
They never replied to us, but all of a sudden, I got notice of approval.
We tore up the request we already had ready to mail off.....
I guess we were very lucky that it went this way!
