Welcome to Clusterf*** Central, better known as the USCIS.

Ok, sorry for the snark.

Now for the serious answers....

Iume that you when you say temporary card, you are talking about
the 2 year with conditions green card? If this is the case, it sounds
like a screw up happened in the USCIS system and the corrected it
internally. If you have an appointment to meet with them, GO! They
should be able to answer all your questions.

In my wife's case, we a lot of problems and had to get 2 U.S. senators
involved to help clear up the mess. My wife got her Green card and we
did not go in for an interview.

You might try accessing the USCIS tracking page,

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

and set up an account if you haven't already. You can then add all the
USCIS case information numbers in and keep track of them. It might
also help you see what the heck is going on.

My wife's sister was turned down for her K1 originally. They said it
was going to be a fake marriage. Her now husband went back over and
married her there and then filed for a K3 visa. She arrived with her
son a few months ago and they are living happily ever after. :)

I hope this helps you out. You can also try going to

http://britishexpats.com/

and go through the forums. They used to connect to this USENET group,
but the site owners closed that down last fall. :(

best of luck to you!
