Marrying a US Citizen does not make you a citizen automatically yourself. It
depends on how you change your visa when you marry the us citizen. Since you
are already in the states you cannot do a K-1 Visa but you can do another
type, i believe in the other forums they describe what it is called. Usually
you have to be married at least 3 years before you can try to be a citizen.
In my situation, my husband and I were married for 2 years and then I had to
do an I-751 to remove the conditions on his green card so that he could get
another green card that was "unconditional". On the 3rd year he was able to
apply for citizenship.
