Come off it! The major groups are getting far more than 3 of their
tracks played regularly on the media at any given time.

Perhaps your mind is in that condition, but it is perfectly possible
to make a good living from the proceeds of radio & TV alone. As proof
absolute of that, I have known some extremely wealthy musicians who
you will never have heard of - but you will have heard their work.
They make their living selling jingles and backing to adverts. They
do not sell a single CD.
