Your mistake was to leave that address visible and not to obscure it :-)

Your legal position is that the mail is not your property but you have no
obligation to do anything in particular with it. If you can contact the
previous occupants you could tell them that the mail will be discarded
after some reasonable period (say 1 month) and invite them to make
arrangements for its collection or you could return it to the Royal Mail.
