The figure of 5% acceptable error rate I quoted was where the price on
the shelf and price at the till didn't match. It is as much an
offence under the CPA for the price to be lower as it is for it to be
higher.

Errors on pricing tend to be both above and below the shelf price in
more or less equal amounts.
