The Press Conference

That uproarious press conference following the arrest of Peter
Sutcliffe reveals the holes in the official Yorkshire Ripper story as
nothing else does. A picture says more than a thousand words. That
press conference gives the game away.

OLDFIELD
Oldfield seemingly was already seated on the left before Gregory and
Holland walked in. Oldfield looked totally dejected - and also
frightened. His face also showed a sense of 'resigned to the
inevitable.'
The Yorkshire Ripper had just been caught, so we'd been told. If that
were the case, then all Oldfield's problems were solved. He should
have been ecstatically happy. Yet Oldfield's demeanour and facial
expression showed him to be totally dejected. We now know that this
was
a sign that he was resigned to the inevitability of the coming
cover-up, and of his complete failure to catch the real Ripper.
The bottom line: the REAL Yorkshire Ripper had totally defeated
Oldfield. And he died soon afterwards, a broken man.
GREGORY
Gregory walked out to face the cameras with a clearly
forced and fake smile, which at times gave way to an uneasy frown. He
put on a brave face and came out with the words: "and I can tell you
that we are absolutely delighted with developments at this stage,
absolutely delighted!"
His facial expression and his demeanour showed him to be anything but
delighted. This amazing performance was not consistent with policemen
having just caught the Yorkshire Ripper.
The video footage of that unbelievable press conference is quite
fascinating. It belongs in the psychology department of every
university in the world.
Noel, if you can get moving images of that uproarious press
conference
repeatedly playing on your website, or on a forwardable email, it
will
focus people's minds as nothing else will, and will get some progress
on this.

=2E........with hindsight, it seems Dick Holland was not at that
infamous press conference, only Gregory, Hobson, Oldfield and a
couple
of other (now forgotten) functionaries of the West Yorkshire Police.
Dick Holland made the right decision by not getting caught on camera
at that historical moment - when the +++YORKSHIRE RIPPER COVER UP+++
was made official. He was well out of it.
HOWEVER.................
If you have a video of that infamous press conference, just
concentrate on Ron Gregory, and his facial expressions......... which
kept alternating between fake smile and worried frown...........
Only after Ronald Gregory is dead will the true history of that
episode be written.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO ADMIT THAT YOU ARE WRONG, CONSTABLE GREGG OF THE
