So don't you think that it would be a good idea to establish whether
such a link actually exists? Or would that be taking too much risk
that what is discovered might be the wrong answer?

Or is it OK to ban black people from certain places because, as
everyone knows, black people cause crime and drug-taking. Or we could
exclude Jews from society on the grounds that they are thieves and
fraudsters who are likely to cause great harm to a community.
