You have the same access as the person who puts up the shelf labels
(who is not authorised to operate a till). All you would need to do
(the same as the shelf-labeller) is to take a sample of each item you
intend to purchase to a till and ask for a price check. You have
stated that this would not take any extra time or effort for the
shelf-labeller, so it should not take you any extra time or effort
either.
