This happened to me when I went for a trip to Stirling and left prescription
meds at home.

I just went to the Boots in the shopping centre, told them what I was on and
they checked on the computer that it was okay to supply this particular med
on an emergency basis then they sold me the correct number of tablets for the
length of my stay at private patient (i.e. not NHS subsidised) prices. You
probably wouldn't want more than you need this way as they were very
expensive. £2.40 per tablet as I recall but each med is differently priced.

I would guess that this depends on your prescription meds not being something
like vallium or methodone.
