Subject: Extension without builder's permission Posted on: Sat, 29 Mar 2008 09:56:52 +0000 (UTC)

Hello,

We're in the process of selling our house, however our buyer's
solicitor has picked up a covenant in our paperwork that states we
should have spoken with the builders of our house prior to undertaking
an extension. We built an extension on the house about 4 years ago,
but weren't aware of the covenant, so didn't officially gain the
builder's permission.

We did speak (verbally - no dcoumentation) to the builder about what
footings were in the property obviously explaining our intentions, but
the covenant never came up.

What are the implications of this?

Thanks
