A good metaphor would be to consider Noel O'Gara to be "human litmus
paper."

Litmus paper is an old fashioned "indicator," which turns a certain
colour when inserted into a liquid, to "indicate" its degree of
acidity or alkalinity.

Noel O'Gara is "human litmus paper" in the sense that by inserting his
information into human society, he has "indicated" our true
psychological condition.
