Why the intensity?
It's a case of ACTION-REACTION.
The scale of the INJUSTICE and IMBALANCE represented by the Yorkshire
Ripper cover up has called forth a reaction which if finding
expression on usenet.
---------------------------------------------------------------
When I think of the Yorkshire Ripper cover up, I picture the vibrant,
innocent face of
sixteen-year-old Jayne MacDonald of Scott Hall Drive,
Chapeltown, Leeds....... and I also think immediately after that of
ACC
George Oldfield... a relatively decent copper, sitting down with Wilf
MacDonald in his humble living room in Scott Hall Drive and saying to
Jayne MacDonald's father: "I give you my word, Mr MacDonald, I will
not rest until I've caught the man who did this to your daughter."
------------------------------------
Fast forward to January 1981, and the same ACC George Olfield was
present at that uproarious fake press conference at which the Peter
Sutcliffe myth was launched. George Oldfield tried hard to keep the
fake smile on his face, but he couldn't. He was too honest. The fake
smile kept slipping, as the camera showed. George Oldfield had broken
his promise to Wilf MacDonald, when he went along with that press
conference to launch the Peter Sutcliffe myth.... so that George
Oldfield was reneging on his promise to Wilf MacDonald to hunt down
his daughter's killer, who was NOT the inept emotional cripple Peter
Sutcliffe.
The REAL Yorkshire Ripper killed Jayne MacDonald.
NOT Peter Sutcliffe.
ACC George Oldfield couldn't live with the guilt of betraying the
memory of Jayne MacDonald.
ACC George Oldfield drank himself to death in the months following
that fake press conference launching the Peter Sutcliffe myth.

The Press Conference
--------------------------------
That uproarious press conference following the arrest of Peter
Sutcliffe reveals the holes in the official Yorkshire Ripper story as
nothing else does. A picture says more than a thousand words. That
press conference gives the game away.
If you were interested enough to tape last night's Channel Four
documentary, go to the forty minute mark and replay repeatedly the
footage of

If I've got the names correct, left to right they were: Oldfield,
Gregory, Holland.
(Noel correct me if I'm wrong about the names).
OLDFIELD
Oldfield seemingly was already seated on the left before Gregory and
Holland walked in. Oldfield looked totally dejected - and also
frightened. His face also showed a sense of 'resigned to the
inevitable.'
The Yorkshire Ripper had just been caught, so we'd been told. If that
were the case, then all Oldfield's problems were solved. He should
have been ecstatically happy. Yet Oldfield's demeanour and facial
expression showed him to be totally dejected. We now know that this
was
a sign that he was resigned to the inevitability of the coming
cover-up, and of his complete failure to catch the real Ripper.
The bottom line: the REAL Yorkshire Ripper had totally defeated
Oldfield. And he died soon afterwards, a broken man.
HOLLAND [insert 16-4-2008: perhaps error; perhaps Jim Hobson]
Dick Holland [insert 16-4-2008: perhaps error; perhaps Jim Hobson]
walked out in front of the cameras with a patently false
and forced smile on his face, which then gave way to a frown, mingled
with fear and apprehension. Holland remained silent, clearly forcing
a
fake smile, during the available footage.
GREGORY
Like Holland ,[insert 16-4-2008: perhaps error; perhaps Jim Hobson]
Gregory walked out to face the cameras with a clearly
forced and fake smile, which at times gave way to an uneasy frown. He
put on a brave face and came out with the words: "and I can tell you
that we are absolutely delighted with developments at this stage,
absolutely delighted!"
His facial expression and his demeanour showed him to be anything but
delighted. This amazing performance was not consistent with policemen
having just caught the Yorkshire Ripper.
The video footage of that unbelievable press conference is quite
fascinating. It belongs in the psychology department of every
university in the world.
Noel, if you can get moving images of that uproarious press
conference
repeatedly playing on your website, or on a forwardable email, it
will
focus people's minds as nothing else will, and will get some progress
on this.

Footnote:
the above was reproduced verbatim from usenet archive.
Slightly impulsive, a product of those heady days of
early virgin campaigning.........
=2E........with hindsight, it seems Dick Holland was not at that
infamous press conference, only Gregory, Hobson, Oldfield and a
couple
of other (now forgotten) functionaries of the West Yorkshire Police.
Dick Holland made the right decision by not getting caught on camera
at that historical moment - when the +++YORKSHIRE RIPPER COVER UP+++
was made official. He was well out of it.
HOWEVER.................
If you have a video of that infamous press conference, just
concentrate on Ron Gregory, and his facial expressions......... which
kept alternating between fake smile and worried frown...........
Only after Ronald Gregory is dead will the true history of that
episode be written.
