Some do, some don't. It would not take a mechanical genius to do a
small modification.

Apparently not.

Not that I believe guns are either necessary or a good idesa for
defence against the possibility of burglars in the UK. When guns were
legal there was a *very* small percentage of UK citizens who owned
one.

And if they are legalised again, it is certain that they will have to
be kept in a locked gun cabinet, so you would still have to break the
law to have one ready.
