This distinction is important. If someone had said, without a
reasonable explanation that Islam should be banned, it would be deemed
as discrimination, blatant racism all the more scary because it's self-
assured BUT what we have to learn is that when human rights are
challenged, even in the name of religion, it must be exposed as
destructive and dangerous.
It's easy to claim ignorance or fanatisism as a member of an
oppressive, quasi-cult belief system. It's easy to act innocent to
what is clearly wrong like the suspected abuse in isolated American
religious groups, being evasive and claiming it's some Deity's 'will'
or that some creepy senior father-like member is always right when it
feels wrong. These kinds of groups, on whatever scale must be stopped
because they know they are a force of terror, no real belief system
has violence or abuse at it's core.
