. I don't think petrol tax provides value for money *to me*, and VAT
certainly
. doesn't. But I recognise that both provide value for money to
society as a
. whole, so I pay them (not that I have much choice).

If you don't think petrol (including tax) provides value for money,
why do you buy it? If you *do* think it is still value for money and
buy petrol, but think that the level of taxation on it is too high,
you can quite legitimately complain about it without feeling obliged
to,er, go forth to a different country.

I am also free to stop watching TV, and to complain about what I
consider to be an inequitous tax. I am not talking about illegal usage
here, hence my question.
