Or, nearer to home, like the incident a year or so ago when a group of
police officers were filmed by a CCTV camera repeatedly kicking a
drunk in the face and the testicles. There was "insufficient
evidence" to prosecute then, too.

When the notable police apologist in this group bemoans the lack of
sympathy shown by the public towards the police (and attacks those who
show the humanity he lacks), he has only himself and his uniformed
thugs to blame. There have simply been too many such incidents.

Even closer to home, there's the Met PC of my acquaintance who tells
his mates that he likes being on duty on Friday and Saturday nights so
that he can "put the boot in". That he's so comfortable declaring his
violent predilections is an indication of the sort of culture within
the police.
