Black Wednesday was clearly a result of [Tory] government error and of
course they paid for it politically, and also via Soros in the markets.
The current slump against the Euro and Dollar is less directly attributable,
but of course if we had joined the Euro when rates were better...
Northern Rock did worry the foreign exchanges, but this is only a couple of
the many sheaves on the camels back.
In short they are in a mess, it is largely their own fault, and even the
bits that aren't (in the current global downturn) will still be blamed on
them,
