There is a set of .ual offences of which two are only likely to be
committed with adults and which also are prosecutable against UK
subjects wherever committed.
High treason.
It is high treason to violate the wife of King, the wife of eldest son
and heir of Sovereign or the eldest unmarried daughter of sovereign.
Eldest unmarried daughter may be a minor, but wives are likely to be
adults.
This crime can be committed by any person who is (or pretends to be)
an UK subject anywhere in the world. But aliens, even UK residents,
can only commit this crime when present in UK (and under protection of
UK, having arrived by leave of UK government).
It is perfectly legal for an alien abroad to violate the wife of the
eldest son and heir of Sovereign (and it is perfectly legal for the
said wife to consent to be so violated - this was the whole point of
introducing Bill of Pains and Penalties against Queen Charlotte rather
than prosecuting her by due process of law - she did not break any
law). However, an UK subject who should fornicate with adult eldest
unmarried daughter of Queen while abroad (was Princess Anne outside
the realm any time while last unmarried, in 1992?) is guilty of high
treason and just as liable to be hanged as an UK subject who adheres
to Queen=B4s enemies abroad. |
