Agreed. That would be a 'common assualt'. The act of touching someone
without lawful excuse etc is a battery (but this is commonly referred
to as being an asault). So a light dusting with somne gravel would
count.

Moving up the scale there is then ABH and GBH for which the cites have
been given elsewhere in this thread.
