(1) The Human Rights Act was a piece of legislation enacted by the UK's
parliament
(2) The ECHR, which British courts can enforce in their judgements, as a
result of the the Human Rights Act, was created by the Council of
Europe, not the EU.
(3) The ECHR hasn't stopped the government from passing mountains of
legislation that undermines liberty and has only occasionally blunted
these attacks on liberty.
