Yes, it does. Nobody's advocating torturing innocent people.

So, what was your answer to *my* question:
AQ has planted a dirty bomb, maybe upwind from your kid's school.
Agents of your government have captured one of the terrs who knows where the
bomb is located, but he's not talking.
Not some random person of the right ethnicity or religion, positively one of
the plotters. He, his car, his flat, all have residue from making the dirty
bomb.
It's going to explode in about an hour, somewhere in a crowded,
traffic-jammed city where *your* family lives. If you don't get the
information *he* has, innocent people are going to die, probably people you
care about.
He sits there and laughs at you.
What do you do?
