Well that would be the natural consequence of his uninformed position. That
is if the Japanese has survived the winter of 45/46.
Hell, if we'd simply blockaded Japan and didn't come ashore until June of
1946 there would have been no resistance at all. Nice and peaceful. The peace
of the grave of an entire culture.
Clearly a morally superior position. Certainly letting people die of
malnutrition, dehydration, exposure and disease is much more humane than
killing them in an instant.
