My DS-2019 expires on 29th March 2004 plus i get 1 month Grace Period
to leave Country that is 29th April. iam currently on J1 Visa with 2yr
home residency requirement.
Iam expecting to get a Waiver Around Dec-Jan2004.
Iam Planning to change my Status to F1.
My Problem is the new 2004 session starts in September and i will be
out of status from March.
Question's
1:If i get Admission for Sep-2004 session ,get I-20 and apply for
change of staus to F1 before iam out of status-29th March 2004,
a)would i then be in legal status and wait in USA till my Session
starts and also approval from INS/BCIS.
b)would i be still required to leave country as F1 Visa says you can
enter USA only 30 days prior to your school start date.
2:Right now under my J1 Visa iam allowed to work,so when i get I-20
from University:
a)Does i have to stop Working from that day Or the day i legally
recivie the I-20 in my hand.
b)OR i can stop working the day i apply for change of status.
3:My DS-2019 expires on 29th March 2004 plus i get 1 month Grace
