Hi immigration gurus, could you answer this one?

I spending next week traveling abroad; to be admitted back to the US I
got a return permit based on the pending AOS to PR application.
However, today I got an email from CIS stating my application is
processed and I will get my GC "soon". Obviously, the letter has not
arrived yet.
Question: since my status has changed from AOS to GC, will I be able
to enter the US on my travel permit based on AOS?
