I went through my Citizenship questions in Early Aug. 2008 and was
told that I would get my Oath Ceremony letter soon and the Oath
Ceremony would be in Sept. Unfortunately, due to a personal reason, I
am overseas and I was expecting to come back the end of Aug, but now
it seems I might have to be overseas for a few more weeks. My mail is
being held at the post office and I dont know if the "oath ceremony"
letter has been mailed to me or not and there is no way I can see the
letter if it is even mailed to me.
I also called up the 800 number listed on the INS website, I gave
them
the SRC number for the N-400 that I had and he told me that there is
no letter thats been mailed out to you. When I checked the INS
website
I noticed that the case status has not been updated since June 2007.
I
know that I went through the US history test and passed it in Aug.
2008. So I am worried about the validity of what the INS agent
informed.
I am in Dallas, Texas and would appreciate if you can provide any way
in which I can contact the INS and request a postponing of the oath
ceremony. Or if there is a way I can find out when my Oath ceremony
is
and I can plan my trip a day or two before that day.
Is there a phone number that I can call and get the information?
