My wife's J1 expires at the end of December. I'm on a J2. We have been
in the US since January, with several trips back home to the UK in
that time. We want to go up to Canada for a few days in January, and
then return to the US to catch our flights home.
Questions:
a) Are we able to re-enter the US on our expired visas (but within the
30 day grace period), or do we need to enter on the VWP (we're UK
citizens)?
b)uming we have to go through the VWP - has anyone actually done
this, and are we likely to encounter problems?
We are concerned that we may have difficulty re-entering the US, which
would potentially leave us stranded in Canada, with no flights, and no
luggage (since that will be in a friend's basement in Boston...).
